Trading journal notebook and printable PDF, or a free journal

Writing by hand slows you down in a good way, and a printed trading journal page on the desk is hard to ignore. What paper cannot do is add up a month of trades, or tell you which setup is paying for the others.

Start free

Free, no card. Plus a bonus: the full version for your first 30 days.

Free, and it stays free

  • enter trades and notes by hand, or import them from your platform's files;
  • standard reports, export and backup;
  • link your notes to trades by hand;
  • attach your own chart pictures to any note and to the day's review;
  • the full version for your first 30 days, no card; an email address for the key.

What it cannot do

  • count your win rate or expectancy by setup without a calculator and an evening;
  • let you search six months back for every trade of one setup;
  • show the chart as it was when you entered.

Paper and TradeRecall

“Free” is TradeRecall's free journal, which does not expire; “full” is the full version, yours for the first 30 days.

Do I need a printable trading journal PDF?

If paper helps you think, keep it, for the plan before the open and the lessons after the close. Let a free journal keep the trades themselves: TradeRecall imports the file your platform exports, keeps each account apart and gives win rate and expectancy per setup, without a calculator. Can I talk instead of write?

Yes, in the full version. One key combination (⌥⌘J on a Mac, Win+Shift+J on Windows) starts and stops a voice note, even while your platform is in front; it goes into the trade you are in, and it is turned into text on your computer, in about a hundred languages. Voice trading journal

The Spoken Claims report in TradeRecall: sentences you said about your trading, quoted word for word, each one confirmed by you.

Questions

Can I enter trades by hand, as in my notebook?

Yes. Entering trades and notes by hand is part of the free journal and stays free.

Is my journal private?

It is on your computer, like a notebook in your drawer. Nothing from it goes to anyone else's servers.

What happens after the first 30 days?

The free journal stays as it is. The live part (fills as they happen, voice, tags from your voice notes and chart pictures) waits until you buy it: $300 once, or $33 a month 12 times, and then it is yours for good.
