What TradeRecall records

One Expert Advisor, dragged onto any chart once. It only reads and never trades; TradeRecall puts it into MetaTrader 4 for you.

  • Every opening and closing is recorded within a quarter of a second, with the broker's own profit, commission and swap, in your account's currency and in lots.
  • Stops, targets and every move of them are recorded with the trade.
  • A picture of the chart is taken at every opening, closing and order change: the chart with your plan on it, else the one in front.
  • Forex pairs and CFDs. An account is recorded as live from its first trade until you mark it as a simulation account.
  • Trades closed while MetaTrader 4 was closed are fetched from its account history the next time it runs, each once.
  • Works with MetaTrader 4 build 1400 or newer, on Windows.
  • Say why mid-trade: ⌥⌘J on a Mac or Win+Shift+J on Windows starts and stops a voice note, also with your platform in front. The note goes into the trade you are in, at the moment you said it. Voice trading journal

How you set it up

  1. In TradeRecall, open Settings › Platforms › MetaTrader 4 and set it up there: TradeRecall puts its Expert Advisor into every MetaTrader 4 terminal it finds.
  2. In MetaTrader 4, drag TradeRecall from Navigator › Expert Advisors onto any chart and press OK. Once is enough: MetaTrader 4 keeps it there after a restart.
  3. Keep a chart of each symbol you trade open: TradeRecall takes its chart pictures from it and draws your confirmed plan on it.
  4. Every account is recorded as live from its first trade. For a demo or simulation account, switch on Simulation account in Settings › Accounts; its trades already recorded move with it.

Older trades: Trades › Import reads MetaTrader 4's Statement and adds only what was not recorded already.

The setup guide shows the steps for each platform.

On a Mac

MetaTrader 4 runs in Windows under Parallels on a Mac, and TradeRecall on the Mac puts its Expert Advisor into it. In Parallels, let the Mac see Windows' folders: Options › Sharing › Share Windows › Access Windows folders from Mac.
